New York City, Here We Come!

That’s right, Minus has a new home! Few months ago, Carl and I met in Boston and there, Minus was born. We met with other startups and made many new friends in Boston and it was an intense few months while I finished up college. However we are now ready to take Minus to the next level.

Today marks the start of a new chapter for Minus as we enter the city that never sleeps. Since the very beginning, we started Minus with a single mission, to simplify sharing. We strongly believe in this idea of creating a simple and universal sharing platform, and we will continue our pursuit.

We’re hiring! Shoot us an email if you or a friend is interested in joining the team. Our office is in midtown manhattan and we’re looking for fulltime, parttime, and interns in software engineering, marketing and web design. Our stack is built on python, django, javascript, jquery, css, and html.

Below are some pics of our office in the works, do send us ideas for the office :)

  1. Congratulations on your move to the Big Apple! If you can make it there, you can make it anywhere.

Thanks for helping me finally find the right alternative to the once useful drop.io which has been closed.

One thing drop.io did right was they contacted users several times prior to closing up shop when Facebook purchased them. This helped ensure that users did not lose access to any stored files and also gave users time to move files and update links to those files so they still worked for our readers.

    Good luck!

  2. Hi Mark,

Thanks and glad to have you onboard. We are here to stay and hope you will help us spread the word as well!

    Cheers

  3. Hi Minus Group!

Greetings from Seville/Spain, from a company growing up like yours!

We had the same problem with the configuration of tables/computers when we moved our office… Now we’re in an smaller one…and we changed individual tables for a bigger one, shared by 4 developers each one… It helps when using Scrum and other Agile Methods of Software Development.

We have to say that your chairs are really cool!

Good luck and congratulations for your good service!

  4. Congratulations! I’m really excited about the future of Minus. For me it was the only image host who could get it correct. It’s easy to use, feature packed, has a rather unique approach, and good communication! I wish I was in New York so I could apply for a spot on the team, but I’m in South Carolina lol. Any way, I’m really happy about all the good news, keep up the good work!

  5. Hi Thomas,

Thanks a bunch and definitely send us anyone you know that may be interested in joining in the NYC area and please continue to help us spread the word!

    Cheers

  6. Hey Francisco!

Thanks a bunch and yes we are using smaller tables and plan on combining them into larger tables so a bunch of us can just sit together.

Glad you liked the chairs, I tried to make them as colorful as I can :)

Cheers and best of luck w/ your ventures!
