v2.01: Instant Search, Timeline and New Profiles
John and I are super psyched to announce the release of Minus v2.01. This is a major release. We’ve added features like search, made tremendous improvements in sharing workflow, made gallery viewing more elegant than ever, and tripled our server capacity.
We went through many iterations in getting to this release. Taking your feedback to heart, we’ve made great strides in improving the sharing workflow many of you have been telling us about. With v2.01, it’s simpler than ever to share; find users; search through your own galleries; and discover what your friends are sharing.
Be sure to send us your ideas, suggestions and bug reports at our forum, we are listening.

Great! Thank you for the updates. One thing I am still waiting on, however, is the removal of the limit on gallery size or at least heightening it a little bit… as 50 is way too small in my opinion. Thank you for the great service!
Hi Gray,
Anytime. What do you think is a good number? We can increase it more but we feel it is right when we allow users to enable “GRID VIEW” as right now it is not good for browsing too many items
Cheers
Did you add a pixel size restriction or something? I can’t upload my 1920×1080 jpg screenshots from Vindictus anymore (~500kb). It just says “The image you have uploaded is not in the correct format and cannot be properly rendered. Please try another image.”
Actually… every jpg I try to upload gets that message. I’ve determined it’s not the file names or pixel size. Something must be broken.
Hi Tiffany,
We had an upload bug earlier today with uploads. This has been fixed now, it was not restrictions. Please try again now. Very sorry for the inconvenience caused.
Cheers
Good job guy.
Thanks for increasing the upload size limit hope you guy will increase it further soon. 50MB is just not enough just maybe enough for music mp3 upload.
Hi,
Thanks! The 50MB is per file limit, and there is no limit on amount of files you can upload
Hope that explains it, i think is more than enough for MP3s.

Can the desktop apps be updated to support the 50MB limit? Thanks.
In reply to the ‘what is a good number’ that is a tough question as i know you guys are trying to gauge performance in the equation as well. My one thought in regards to that is that pagination isn’t a bad thing
… i know you guys like using the autopaging, ajax based loading but that definitely can be taxing on a browser. Currently on my site i have pretty simplistic approach http://love9.us nothing fancy but it definitely allows for more images per page. But obviously you guys have the JS skills to make it fancier which is why I’m using your service
. But back to the question of the numbers… i guess my answer would be the higher the better… maybe 100? if possible. Thanks for the quick responses!
Hi Imac,
We will update the desktop apps to support 50MB soon, sorry about that
Cheers!
Hi Gray,
Thanks for the suggestions, will definitely try that and explore possibly pagination for larger galleries! 100 sounds like a good number, we will explore
Cheers
John
No scrollbar on http://feedback.min.us/ with Opera
The minus Tool needs more TLC:
-Ability to delete files in the history view instead of going to the site
-Remembering the history after exit
-the ability to control the account more from the tool
Thanks Ben!
1) We will fix feedback in opera
2) Minus desktop is very beta and we don’t have resources to work on it right now. If you know anyone that can help please do send them our way
If you have suggestions as well do add it, we’ll get to it soon once we setup a team!
Cheers
